Hi on gm vehicles that can only be done on line with a passthru or tech2 and a 2 day sub with gm tis web most control modules on gm need to be program flash after replacement even to program the immobilizer theft deterrent ( passlock, passkey ) has to be done on line and 55 dollars for 2 days sub and on the newer vehicles you will need the famous mdi in order to program this particular module hope this helps you and maybe some one else will like to add or edit something good luck.
